Odisha’s ‘Crorepati’ Drug Mafia Rajanikant Patnaik: Rs 6 Crore Property Seized

Berhampur: The Kolkata Competent Authority has confiscated property worth Rs 6 crore, including gold jewellery worth Rs 4.5 crore, of notorious drug mafia Rajanikant Patnaik from Khallikote in Odisha’s Ganjam district.

Patnaik is currently in jail.

Ganjam police arrested Patnaik of Khojapalli village last year and had then seized Rs 75 lakh cash, 8.5 kg gold ornaments, 34 kg cannabis and 10 kg opium from him.

Police said he had been smuggling cannabis from Kandhamal to various places for years, from which he made crores.

Patnaik was operating his illegal drugs business through a Ayurvedic medicine firm named Viswakarma Ayurvedic Private Limited. He was also a private money lender and lent out money at high interest rates.
