Bhubaneswar: Deogarh district in Odisha is all set to get rail connectivity for the first time with the Railways Ministry approving measures for conducting Final Location Survey (FLS) for the new line between Barkot and Jharsuguda.
The Railway Board has informed the General Manager of East Coast Railway (ECoR) about the sanction given by the Ministry for conducting the FLS for preparation of DPR for new line between Barkot and Jharsuguda.
The FLS for the proposed 160-km rail line will be conducted at a cost of Rs four crore, the Railway Board said in a communication to the ECoR General Manager.
Union Education and Skill Development Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who had written a letter for the new rail line, thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for the approval.
