Bhubaneswar: The first ultra-modern Aahaar Kendra will soon start functioning from the premises of Cuttack Netaji Bus Terminal (CNBT), which is under construction in Odisha’s Cuttack city.
The centrally air-conditioned centre is spread over a 5,800 sq ft area and can seat 1,000 people at a time. What sets it apart from other centres is its luxurious interiors and the exterior, designed and constructed by Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC), at a cost of Rs 1.8 crore. It will have tables and chairs for comfortable dining.
The centre will also have chairs for infants, child-friendly wash basins and special basins for the differently-abled.
OTHER FACILITIES
>> A refrigerator and freezer will have a heater facility where people can boil milk.
>> Hot plates’ for keeping the food items warm.
>> Book rack with magazines and newspapers
>> A cloakroom where people can keep their luggage.
>> Two large size LED screens.
>> Dishwasher and a drier for people to dry their hands
Besides tea and coffee, the menu at the cafe will include breakfast and evening snacks. Maa Tarini SHG has been entrusted with the task of operating the centre and food items prepared by it will be available here. “We have sought permission from the state government for keeping the Aahar Kendra open on Sundays,” said a senior official of CMC.
