Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s top weightlifters Jyoshna Sabar and Priteesmita Bhoi have been named in the Indian squad that will participate in the World Youth Weightlifting Championship to be held in Peru capital Lima from May 20 to 27.
Jyoshna, an Odisha Weightlifting HPC trainee, has been performing consistently over a couple of years. In January, the teenager won gold in Khelo India Youth Games with a national record in Snatch. She was also adjudged Best Lifter in Youth category in back-to-back IWLF National championships.
Another talented teenaged lifter Priteesmita, a trainee of Dhenkanal Sub-Centre, has also been catching the eye with a series of impressive performances.
