In memory of the apostle of peace, Ashram Gandhi Puri in Indonesia is celebrating Gandhi Jayanti. It is organising different programmes like workshops, seminars and classical Indian dances on the occasion.
The Ashram is celebrating the Gandhi Jayanti for three days to promote peace and harmony around the world, said Ida Rishiputra Manuaba, a member of the ashram.
One of the participants in the cultural show and Odissi dancer Pampi Pal said it was a wonderful experience to perform at the ashram. “The organisers are taking all possible care of the participants of the programmes here. They are very friendly and cooperative. Besides, the atmosphere here is peaceful and serene. I am enjoying my staay,” she said.
Located in Bali, the Ashram Gandhi Puri is dedicated to the Gandhian ideologies and has been promoting his principles of non-violence and peace.
It was founded in Denpasar by BR Indra Udayana in 1999. It is a private and nonprofit foundation based on the principles of truth, humanitarianism and non-violence.
