Puri: Pictures from inside the Jagannath Temple has once again gone viral, exposing the poor security arrangements at the 12th century shrine in Puri.
Despite a ban on mobile phone on the temple premises, a picture of Odia actress Divya and five others relishing ‘Mahaprasad’ clicked at Anandabazar with Meghnad boundary within the frame is now doing the rounds on social media.
However, the date on which the photo was taken is not known.
The actress, however, said that she was well aware of the restrictions and did not carry cellphone into the temple. “Someone might have clicked my photo and released it on social media platforms. I urge the administration to investigate the account from which the photograph was posted,” the actress, who starred opposite Babusan in the recently-released Ollywood movie Mr Majnu, said.
Notably, similar incidents had been reported in the past. Besides devotees, cops and servitors have been found flouting the ban order on use of mobile phones, cameras and other electronic gadgets on the temple premises. This despite the fact that signages have also been put up at the Lions’ Gate of the shrine to make devotees aware of the ban.
