Berhampur: Villagers of Bhimapur under Purushottampur block in Ganjam district on Thursday recovered the body of one of the boys, who had drowned in the Rushikulya river the previous day.
The body of the boy, identified as Subham (13), was found floating in the river near the village. His elder brother Sangram Pradhan (17) is still missing.
Sangram and Subham, sons of Goutam Pradhan of Bhaimpur village, drowned in the river while taking bath on Wednesday morning. They slipped into the deep waters and were swept away by the strong current.
Some boys, also taking bath in the river, ran back home and informed family members about the incident which took place at around 9.40 am.
On being informed, a 10-member team of Fire Services personnel rushed to the spot and began the search operation, but in vain.
Sangram and Subham were the students of Plus-II and Class VIII respectively.
