Balasore: The driver of an ambulance was killed while two others sustained injuries after it hit a truck on NH-16 near Dandakali Temple under Khantapada police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district on Saturday.
According to sources, the mishap took place around 8 am when the ill-fated ambulance of a private hospital in West Bengal collided with a truck after hitting the road divider. The driver of the truck also lost control over the wheels under the impact of the collision and the vehicle rammed into a roadside cement godown.
The ambulance driver died on the spot while the helper of the emergency vehicle and truck driver sustained grievous injuries.
On being informed about the accident, Khantapada police reached the spot, rescued the victims and admitted them to district headquarters hospital.
