Balasore: A trip to Puri took a tragic turn for a group of pilgrims with one among them getting killed and three others critically injured when the bus, in which they were travelling, was hit by a truck on NH-5 in Balasore district on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as L N Naidu (70), a resident of Andhra Pradesh.
The truck rammed into the bus, which was heading towards Puri after a trip to Kashi and Howrah, near Maitapur Mahantipokhari. There were 27 passengers in the bus.
The driver and helper of the truck managed to flee the spot immediately after the accident, police sources informed.
