Bhubaneswar: A day after clamping Section 144 of CrPC from 7 pm to 7 am in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, the Commissionerate Police on Wednesday released a meme warning people against venturing out of their houses during this period.
It read: “Only ghosts are allowed to roam around between 7 PM to 7 AM. And you are not one!”
Twin City Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi clarified that this restriction on public movement during lockdown 3.0 was applicable to all districts across Odisha irrespective of Red, Orange or Green zones.
“It is aimed at preventing explosion of COVID19 cases as the government is gradually resuming economic activity,” he added.

The Exceptions
Government officials and healthcare professionals involved in COVID19 management and vehicles carrying essential products and migrants allowed free movement
Call centres, internet service providers, IT companies, media organisations, electricity department, water supply department can operate
Filling stations will remain open as usual during the period
The Police Commissioner said that economic activities will be made free from restrictions in a phased manner. “Since we are still grappling with the COVID crisis, it is important for us to strictly adhere to the social distancing norms,” he added.
