Sambalpur: The out-patient department (OPD) services of Medicine department of VIMSAR in Burla will remain suspended from Thursday till August 12.
Informing this, Director of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) Lalit Kumar Meher said the authorities took the decision after 38 doctors of the Medicine department were sent on quarantine. As many as 70 doctors of the institute have been put on quarantine.
Meher said since the OPD services will remain closed, telemedicine services of the Medicine department will be launched from Thursday. The telemedicine facilities can be availed by critical patients on phone numbers 7655051598 and 7655051601.
Appealing to the people not to visit the hospital unless their condition is critical, Meher said the OPD services of other departments will function normally.
