Jajpur: An opera choreographer collapsed on stage and died while rehearsing for an Odia play on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Mayadhar Jena. He worked as a choreographer for Yagnaseni jatra troupe.
According to sources, he complained of chest pain and collapsed on stage during the rehearsal for a play, ‘Akhira dosa na luhara dosa’, directed by Ollywood actor Ashrumochan Mohanty at Sathipur village within Panikoili police limits.
Jena was rushed to a hospital at Panikoili and later shifted to the district headquarters hospital where he was declared dead.
Though it is being suspected that Jena died of cardiac arrest, the exact reason can be ascertained after the autopsy report is received, the sources added.
