Bhubaneswar: Odisha police have rescued six children from Mumbai in the second phase of Operation Muskan-III, a dedicated campaign to trace missing children from the state.
The rescued children are aged between 13 and 16 years. Among them, five boys were taken to Mumbai on the pretext of providing them jobs at different places. Sumitra, a girl from Gajapati district, alleged torture in the house where she worked as a maid, police sources said.
On July 25, Crime Branch Special DG BK Sharma had informed about 1,750 boys and 289 girls being rescued in the first 10 days of the operation.
