Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Ltd (OPTCL) has proposed more than 50% hike in power tariff in financial year 2022-23.
The OPTCL submitted its aggregate revenue requirement (ARR) and transmission tariff application to chairman of Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission Gajendra Mohapatra on Thursday.
The OPTCL has proposed its ARR of Rs 1247.14 crore to transmit an estimated energy of 28,517 MU through its network with an average transmission charge of 43.73 paise per unit during the fiscal at more than 50% rise over the charge in the last fiscal.
The Corporation’s has made the proposal against OERC approval of Rs 793.24 crore to transmit 28,330 MU at an average transmission charge of 28 paise per unit for 2021-22 financial year.
The OPTCL has proposed transmission loss at the rate of 3.1% against approved 3% in the last fiscal.
AS many as 10 persons with objections including Khandapada MLA Soumya Ranjan Patnaik participated in the meeting and submitted their views.
