Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange warning of light to moderate rain/thunderstorm with lightning and intense rain for 15 districts of Odisha, including Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, till 3 pm on Thursday.
The districts, which are likely to be affected, are Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kadhamal, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack and Sonepur.
The MeT office has also issued yellow warning of light to moderate rain/thunderstorm with lightning for some parts of Jajpur, Bhadrak, Koraput, Angul, Dhankanal, Malkangiri, Ganjam, Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur during the next 3 hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
