Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning in some parts of four districts of Odisha till 10.15 am on Wednesday.
The districts are Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar and Bhadrak.
The Met office had earlier issued an orange warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Sundargarh from 8.30 am, under the influence of a well-marked low-pressure area over central parts of Gangetic West Bengal.
It has warned about waterlogging in low-lying areas, and underpass roads, temporary disruption of municipal services and occasional reduction of visibility causing traffic congestion in urban areas. Some damages of horticultural crops and rise in the water level of Burhabalang and Subarnarekha.
Heavy rainfall is also expected at one or two places in Deogarh, Angul, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore and Dhenkanal. North Odisha and many places in South Odisha are also likely to experience light to moderate rain, it said.

The rainfall activities will continue on Thursday with heavy spells at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and Bargarh, it added.
Under the influence of the system, squally weather with surface wind speed reaching 40 to 50 gusting to 60 kmph is likely over North Bay of Bengal, off Odisha coast till Thursday morning. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea, North Bay of Bengal and along and off Odisha coast during this period.
