Cuttack: Orissa High Court has upheld the notification of the Centre for abolishing State Administrative Tribunal (OAT).
The High Court has dismissed all the pleas filed by six different petitioners, including the plea of SAT Bar, Cuttack challenging the notification for abolition of SAT. The HC has upheld the SC notification by dismissing all the pleas.
Pronouncing its order today, the High Court stated that there was no justified basis for its intervention in the notification pertaining to abolition of OAT and dismissed all the petitions.
Since cases under adjudication in OAT will be automatically transferred to the High Court there was no need for its interim order of August 7 to remain in force and hence it is being vacated, the High Court stated.
