Bhubaneswar: Gold ornaments worth several lakh rupees was looted from the house of a scientist in Bhubaneswar on Friday night.
The incident took place when the resident was away on a foreign tour and the flat on outskirts of the city was locked, sources said.
According to reports, the robbers broke into the house in midnight and fled with gold ornaments weighing about 500 grams and other valuables.
Chandaka police have registered a case in this connection and initiated an investigation, sources added.
