Rayagada: An Odisha Special Armed Police (OSAP) jawan fell from a three-storeyed building’s roof while watching Indian Premier League (IPL) on his mobile phone here on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Yogeshwar Das (27) from Nabarangpur.
According to sources, the jawan was watching the match on his device on Tuesday evening sitting on the roof of the barrack. Accidentally, he fell off the roof and suffered critical head injuries.
Profusely bleeding, he was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Having joined the OSPAP 3rd Battalion in Koraput in 2013, Das was transferred to Rayagada only five months ago.
