Bhubaneswar: To sweeten restricted Durga Puja celebrations in capital city, Odisha Tourism Development Corporation launched “Pitha on Wheels’ on Tuesday.
OTDC will provide traditional delicacies in various cities of the state. The ‘Pitha’ will be available in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Sambalpur on wheels as well as through counters from October 12 to 15.
Inaugurating the ‘Pitha On Wheels’ at Panthanivas here on Tuesday, OTDC Chairperson Shreemayee Mishra said the traditional ‘pitha’ have been prepared in an hygienic manner by Panthanivas cooks and women groups under Mission Shakti.
These will be available at the Panthanivas in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Sambalpur besides Nimantran Restaurant in the capital. People can also purchase from the van that will be stationed at Master Canteen Square in the morning and Patia Square in the afternoon in Bhubaneswar and Silver City Boat Club and CDA in Cuttack.
People can purchase them from these counters following the COVID-19 guidelines, said OTDC MD Sachin R Jadhav.
OTDC General Manager Shantanu Mohanty said during 4 days of Dussehr pitha like arisha, kakra, bhaja manda, sijha manda, khira gaja, labangalata, chennapoda, poda pitha besides a variety of traditional Oriya dishes are also available at OTDC’s restaurant Nimatran.
Besides the sweet dishes, savoury like ‘buta dali bara’, Nimatran special chicken and other dishes will be available on the menu at the restaurant.
