Bhubaneswar: More than 200 delegates of industries in various sectors participated in the Odisha Investors’ Meet at Raipur in Chhattisgarh.
The road show aimed at showcasing the immense potential of Biju Economic Corridor along the Biju Expressway and favorable business environment offered by Odisha to attract the investors.
Welcoming the delegates, Minister of Energy, MSME & Industries Pratap Keshari Deb gave an outline of Odisha’s industrial landscape in the metal ancillaries and food processing sectors. He highlighted the state’s impressive growth rates in Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) and rapid industrialisation.
Chief Secretary PK Jena pointed out Odisha’s status as one of the fastest-growing economies in India. He highlighted the state’s abundant natural resources and its strategic location catering to the ASEAN region.
He emphasised on the state’s skilled and productive human resources, progressive policies and result-oriented governance and welcomed industry captains, associations and their members to explore Odisha as their next investment destination.
Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary, Industries department delivered a comprehensive presentation on the industrial ecosystem in Odisha. He spoke on the state’s conducive business environment, ease of doing business index, competitive cost of operations, effective investment facilitation, attractive incentives, and a skilled workforce.
Representatives from leading companies such as Vedanta and JSPL shared their experiences of investing and operating in Odisha. Bhupendra Singh Poonia, managing director of IDCO & IPICOL also spoke.
In addition to the road show, a delegation from Odisha government held discussion with over 50 industry leaders from various sectors.
