Bhubaneswar: State Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari is set to present a full-fledged Budget of over Rs 2 lakh crore for 2022-23 on the opening day of the Budget Session of the Odisha Assembly on July 2.
In its first meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the new Council of Ministers on Friday discussed and approved the full-fledged Budget.
The focus of the Budget will be on infrastructure development, employment generation, healthcare, industries, social sectors and service delivery institutions with a projected growth rate of 8 to 8.5%. The focus will also be on capital expenditure and boosting the state’s tax and non-tax revenue.
The state government had presented a Vote on Account of Rs 1,06,498 crore on March 30 for the first four months (April-July). The full-fledged Budget will be presented for August 2022 to March 2023.
As the Vote on Account did not make any provision for any new schemes, the full-fledged Budget is likely to roll out several new schemes.
