Bhubaneswar: The Sri Ram Janmabhumi Mandir Nidhi Samarpan Samiti, Odisha has collected more than Rs 42 crore for construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Speaking to media on Sunday, secretary of the Samiti, Gopal Prasad Mohapatra said following the formation of Ram Janmabhumi Tirthakshetra Trust to raise funds for the temple, a drive was carried out to collect donations from the people in Odisha from January 14 to February 27 this year.
Mohapatra said 58,992 activists of the Samiti visited 43,749 villages in the state and received contribution from 74,95,799 families.
The total contribution of the people from all communities amounted to Rs 42,03,07,066, he added. He expressed the gratitude on behalf of the Samiti to the donors of the state.
