Lahore: Imran Khan has appealed to the people of Pakistan to raise their voices before it’s too late.

The former Prime Minister of Pakistan posted a series of tweets on Thursday and also attached a disturbing video which claims to capture the recent violence that unfolded in Pakistan in the wake of his arrest.

“Nation has been taken over by a bunch of crooks, criminals, duffers devoid of any ethics or morality. While the country sinks into its worst economic crisis esp unprecedented inflation and unemployment, all those in power are concentrating on how to crush the biggest and the only federal party by unleashing a reign of terror. Time for all citizens to raise their voices before it’s too late,” Imran wrote.

“An immediate inquiry needs to be held on the police firing on unarmed protesters killing at least 25 and injuring hundreds… Under the smokescreen of arson, which any independent investigation will show was pre planned to justify the crackdown on PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf), there is no mention in the media discourse  of the massive violations of our fundamental right to protest peacefully. And no mention of an inquiry into the killing of at least 25 peaceful protestors and wounding of around 600,” further tweeted.

Imran skipped the summons to appear before the country’s powerful anti-graft agency for questioning.

The 70-year-old PTI chief had been summoned at 10 am today, but his legal team advised him not to appear in person and submit a written response instead, Dawn reported.
