Rayagada: The Indian Railways has issued the helpline number even as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister ordered urgent rescue and relief operation for train accident near Palasa station on Sunday evening.
Andhra Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed deep shock over the train accident and ordered the officials to launch relief works to ensure medical services to the injured passengers.
He also directed to send as many ambulances as possible from nearby districts of Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli and make arrangements for treatment of the injured in the nearby hospitals.

As many as 15 people were feared dead and over 100 injured as Visakhapatnam-Rayagada Passenger train coming to Rayagada in Odisha jumped the tracks near Alamanda railway station under Palasa tehsil in Vijaynagaram district.
Some compartments of the train were derailed and were standing outside the tracks. The compartments were severely damaged due to the mishap.
Railway officials have rushed to the spot and started rescue operation with the help of the locals and some voluntary organisations, the sources said.
