Cuttack: As people in Odisha are observing ‘Panchuka’, the last five days of the holy Kartika month, the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Friday shared a link to a live telecast of rituals from Lord Dhabaleswar temple.
According to sources, the devotees will be able to watch all the rituals that will be conducted till Kartika Purnima on November 8.
This year, the devotees have been barred from visiting Dhabaleswar temple after the 254-metre suspension bridge over the Mahanadi river, connecting the shrine in Athagarh, was closed and prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC were imposed.
Around 10 platoons of police, including six SDPOs and 12 IICs have been deployed for security and law and order.
It is pertinent to mention here that the devotees can also go for Lord Dhabaleswar’s darshan virtually on an LED screen near the suspension bridge. The bridge was also closed for public use after the detection of cracks by an expert team.
Cuttack Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani informed that Gaja Bhoga and other prasad would also be available near the bridge.
The administration had also decided to cap the pedestrian movement on the bridge over Mahanadi to 200.
