Puri: With India celebrating the 126th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on Monday, a special programme has been organised at the Janakinath Bhawan, Netaji’s ancestral house in Cuttack, which has been converted into the museum by the Odisha government.
According to sources, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will visit Janakinath Bhawan at 10.30 am and pay floral tribute to Netaji at the museum in Cuttack’s Odia Bazaar where he was born on January 23, 1897.
“Tributes to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the great freedom fighter, worthy son of Mother India, on his birth anniversary. His immense devotion to the country, unique judgment, strong self-confidence, and strength are a source of inspiration for all,” tweeted CM Naveen.
A blood donation camp, as well as a drawing competition, will also be held at the museum, where visitors have to pay a nominal entry fee.
Netaji Jayanti is a national event celebrated as Parakram Diwas on January 23 to mark the birth of prominent Indian freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Netaji Jayanti was celebrated as Parakram Divas for the first time, in 2021 on the occasion of his 124th birthday.
President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Narendra Modi, Minister of Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari, and several other ministers took to their Twitter and paid homage to Netaji on Parakram Diwas.
Besides, sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik created a seven-foot sand sculpture at Puri beach using 450 steel bowls along with his group of students.
