New Delhi: Like they did at the Olympic Games a few weeks ago, shooters are doing India proud at the Paris Paralympics too.
Following the gold-bronze finish by Avani Lekhara and Mona Agarwal in women’s 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 final, Manish Narwal clinched silver in the men’s event.
Manish, who had won gold in the Tokyo Paralympics, looked to be on course for a repeat show like Lekhara, but narrowly missed out in the gold duel with South Korea’s Jo Jeongdu.
Sprinter Preethi Pal secured another medal for India, winning bronze in women’s 100m T35 event. Preethi clocked 14.21 seconds to become India’s first sprinter to win a Paralympics medal.
India’s tally in Paris currently stands at 4 medals – 1 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze.
