Bhubaneswar: In-service teachers can pursue a part-time Bachelors of Education (BEd) course at four universities in Odisha from this academic session.
According to sources, the part-time course of three academic years will be offered at Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University (MSCB), formerly known as North Orissa university in Baripada, Fakir Mohan University in Balasore, Rajendra University in Balangir, and Sambalpur University.
The candidates can complete the course in a maximum period of five years from the date of admission. It will be a combination of face-to-face teaching for at least 120 days each in three years and school internship for a period of 60 days along with school-based activities, said sources.
Each university can admit up to 50 students only. The course is meant for upper primary and secondary school teachers, who are in service as full-time teachers for at least two years, the Higher Education department informed.
