Bhubaneswar: Train movement on the busy Bhubaneswar-Howrah section of East Coast Railway remained paralysed for about one-and-half hours on Thursday morning, as irate commuters of a MEMU train resorted to rail roko agitation at the Kapilas Road Railway station.
The New Delhi-bound Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express was held up along with 17 other long-distance Express trains at various stations because of the agitation.
Commuters squatted on the tracks at the station, about 15km from Cuttack, enraged over other MEMU trains leaving ahead of their train.
Commuters of the Bhadrakh-Bhubaneswar MEMU became agitated as the Talcher-Puri MEMU left before their train, ECoRly sources said.
As a result, train movement was affected from 8.50am to about 10.25am on both the Up and Down lines, sources said, adding, normalcy has been restored now.
