Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital on Sunday witnessed a marginal drop in daily COVID cases as 574 people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours compared to 581 cases on Saturday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), of the day’s total cases, 511 patients are local contacts while 63 are from quarantine.
Of the local contact cases, the highest 34 cases are from Patia which had reported 40 cases yesterday, followed by 26 from Old Town, 21 in Niladri Vihar, 18 in Pokariput, 17 cases each from Chandrasekhapur and Saheed Nagar, 16 each from Mancheswar, Nayapalli and 15 from Saileshree Vihar.
As many as 114 patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours while the casualty remained same as yesterday at 1,103.
The active cases stood at 2,823 while total 1,26,647 people have been infected by the virus so far.
