Bhubaneswar: The capital city witnessed a marginal drop in daily COVID cases as 581 persons tested positive for the diseases in the last 24 hours compared to 638 cases on Friday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), of the day’s total cases, 499 patients are local contacts while 82 are from quarantine.
Of the local contact cases, highest 40 cases are from Patia which had reported 60 cases on Thursday and 41 previous day, followed by 26 from Nayapalli, 16 each from Niladri Vihar, Old Town and Jharpada and 13 each from IRC Village, Khandagiri and Saheed Nagar.
As many as 105 patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours while the casualty remained same as yesterday at 1,103 with no death reported during the period.
The active cases stood at 2,363 while total 1,26,073 people have been infected by the virus so far.
