Mumbai: Actress Rupali Ganguly recently filed a Rs 50 crore defamation case against her stepdaughter Esha Verma for accusing her of being a homewrecker.
Esha alleged that Rupali was having an extramarital affair with her father Ashwin K Verma when the latter was still married to her mother.
Now, actress Payal Rohatgi has called out the ‘Anupamaa’ actress for dating a married man and ruining lives.
Payal took to her Instagram handle and re-shared a report about Rupali’s defamation case and penned a long note.
Payal wrote, “Whatever your truth Rupali but u did marry a guy who was married when u met him. It’s called karma when u do what u do to the earlier wife. The daughter of the earlier wife will have her narrative. Rest figure it out in courts with your proof. But why did u ask for so much money as defamation? Are u broke? Do u all even understand what is 50 crores working in serials?”
Rupali’s lawyer Sana Raees Khan told NDTV that Esha tried to malign the actress’ image, which also affected her professional life and hence her client had filed the defamation case.
Rupali gained popularity after her outstanding performance in the daily soap ‘Anupamaa.’
With a fee of Rs 3 lakh per episode, Rupali is currently one of the highest-paid television actresses. Rupali’s net worth is around Rs 20 crore, reported Economic Times.
