Bhubaneswar: Petrol and diesel prices throughout Odisha witnessed a marginal decrease on Tuesday after recording a surge on Monday.
Petrol is now retailing at Rs 100.97 per litre in Bhubaneswar, while diesel price stands at Rs 94.11. This marks a decrease by Rs 0.53 from Monday’s prices, offering some respite to the consumers.
According to reports by India Today, over the past 10 days, petrol prices in Bhubaneswar have fluctuated between a high of Rs 101.50 per litre and a low of Rs 100.89 per litre. As for diesel, prices oscillated around Rs 94.1 so far this month, with a narrow fluctuation range of Rs 94.16 to Rs 94.11. The highest price recorded was Rs 94.16, while the lowest was Rs 93.99, indicating a relatively stable market trend for the month.
Across India petrol prices vary significantly. Trivandrum has the highest petrol price at Rs 107.56 per litre, while Port Blair has the lowest at Rs 82.42 per litre. Andhra Pradesh recorded the highest petrol rate among all states at Rs 109.45 per litre, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands had the lowest at Rs 82.42 per litre.
The fluctuation in fuel prices is attributed to factors like the rupee’s exchange rate with the US dollar, crude oil costs, global cues, and fuel demand. The dealer codes for major cities are available on the websites of leading oil marketing companies.
