Bhubaneswar: After a gap of six days, the petrol and diesel prices went up again in Odisha on Tuesday.
As informed by the Utkal Petroleum Dealers’ Association (UPDA), the prices of a litre of petrol and diesel went up to Rs 91.64 and Rs 88.66 respectively in Bhubaneswar and Rs 91.25 and Rs 88.91 in Cuttack.
Apart from the twin cities, the fuel price in Malkangiri was Rs 96.31 and Rs 93.13, Rs 92.21 and 89.18 in Sambalpur and Rs 93.19 and 90.13 in Balangir respectively.
Expressing resentment over the soaring price hike, a resident in Bhubaneswar said that it is high time that the Centre slashed the Central Excise tax while the state government should reduce the value-added tax (VAT) rate on fuel.
