Bhubaneswar: The price of petrol soared to Rs 107.11 per litre while the rate of diesel rose to Rs 96.83 per litre in Odisha’s capital on Tuesday after fuel prices were hiked for the seventh time in eight days.
The prices of petrol and diesel were raised by 85 paise and 74 paise in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. Petrol has become costlier by Rs 5.13 per litre and diesel by Rs 5.09 per litre since the hikes started on March 22.
After Tuesday’s hike, petrol and diesel rates are the highest in Malkangiri, with petrol selling at Rs 112.50 per litre and diesel at Rs 102.10 per litre.
