Bhubaneswar: A student of a private college in Odisha capital has gone missing after being allegedly beaten up by a teacher, reports said on Saturday.
The student of Plus II in the educational institute located at Patia in Bhubaneswar went missing on Friday and his family members lodged a complaint in this connection at the Chandrasekhar police station on Saturday, they said.
The boy had reportedly spoken to his father over phone and informed him about the alleged incident, sources said, adding that the student had also claimed that he subjected to ragging in the institute.
Thereafter, the boy went missing and the family members lodged a complaint with the police. Allegations were also made against the teacher, they said.
A probe has been launched by the police into the incident and efforts are in progress to trace the missing student. Details are awaited.
