Bhubaneswar Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are scheduled to attend the three-day All-India Conference of Director Generals/Inspector Generals of Police in Bhubaneswar from November 28-30, BJP state vice president Golak Mohapatra informed on Tuesday.
The Odisha government will make a formal announcement in this regard, he added.
Odisha DGP Y B Khurania had earlier told that Union Home Minister Amit Shah and National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval are likely to attend the conference to be held at the convention centre of the Lok Seva Bhawan. DGPs of all states, CRPF DG, chiefs of RAW, NSA and SPG will attend the three-day event which is slated to conclude on December 1 after discussion on important security-related issues, he added.
Cyber frauds, challenges posed by AI tools such as ChatGPT, latest threats of drone and counterterrorism are among the issues that are likely to be discussed. Shah and Doval are likely to attend all the sessions and discuss on policing, internal security issues and prison reforms, among others, according to sources.
The tentative agenda also includes discussions on hybrid militancy in J&K, Khalistan communication and logistics network, role of virtual assets, dark web in terror financing, drug trafficking, the role of cryptocurrency in counterterrorism, Chinese influence, instability in neighbourhood and its implications for India and growing radicalisation.
