Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is known for his stylish dressing. Now, Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao has said the PM dresses for elections and indulges in gimmickry.
Unleashing a scathing attack on Modi, KCR said: “If it is election time, he has to grow a beard and appear like Rabindranath Tagore… If it is Tamil Nadu, he must wear a lungi… If it is Punjab election, he will wear a pagdi (turban). In Manipur, it will be a Manipuri cap.”
KCR wondered what the country gets “with these kind of gimmicks.”
Rao’s attack on the PM comes three days before their scheduled helicopter ride to the outskirts of Hyderabad for the launch of a statue of Saint Ramanujacharya.
The Telangana CM also criticized the Union Budget 2022, which was presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday.
“Upar shervani, andar pareshani (all style, no substance),” was how KCR mocked the Budget.
