New Delhi: At a time when BBC’s controversial documentary raised questions over Narendra Modi’s role in the 2002 Gujarat riots as then Gujarat CM, the Indian Prime Minister will feel good about the results of a survey conducted by American political intelligence company Morning Consult.
The survey found that PM Modi’s approval ratings have touched an all-time high to make him the most popular leader in the world.
Modi’s approval rating is currently at 78 per cent, while 18 per cent disapprove of him.
Modi is followed by Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador with an approval rating of 68 per cent and Swiss President Alain Berset (62%).
US President Joe Biden is in seventh place with an approval rating of 40%, while UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak (30%) and French President Emmanuel Macron (29%) are way down the list.
Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store, South Korean President Yoon Seok-youl and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida occupy the last three spots.
