Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off two Amrit Bharat Express trains including Malda Town-Bengaluru Amrit Bharat Express, which will run through Odisha, at Ayodhya Dham railway station on Saturday.
On the inaugural day, Malda Town-Bengaluru Amrit Bharat Express will leave Malda Town at 1100 hrs and reach Bengaluru at 2000 hrs on January 1, 2024.
The train will arrive at Bhadrak station on December 30 at 2158 hrs and leave at 2200 hrs towards Cuttack. It will reach Cuttack at 2250 hrs and leave at 0700 hrs on December 31. It will leave Bhubaneswar at 0740 hrs, Khurda Road at 0820 hrs and Brahmapur at 0955 hrs towards Visakhapatnam. It will leave Srikakulam at 1105 hrs, Vizianagaram at 1150 hrs and will leave Visakhapatnam at 1350hrs towards Bengaluru.
MPs and MLAs will welcome the train at Bhadrak, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Berhampur, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam in ECoR jurisdiction.
The regular service of this train will commence from Malda Town from January 7, 2024 and from SMVT, Bengaluru from January 9, 2024. This train will leave Malda Town every Sunday at 0850hrs and arrive at Bengaluru at 0300hrs on Tuesdays. In the return direction, it will leave SMBT, Bengaluru every Tuesday at 1350hrs and reach at Malda Town at 1100hrs on Thursdays.
It will have stoppages at Jaleswar, Balasore, Soro, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road and Brahmapur in Odisha and at Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh under ECoR jurisdiction.
Amrit Bharat Express is a new category of superfast passenger trains in the country. It is an LHB push pull train with non-air-conditioned coaches. It has locos at both ends for better acceleration. It provides improved facilities for passengers like attractive designed seats, better luggage rack, mobile charging point with suitable mobile holder, LED lights, CCTV, public information system and others.
