Bhubaneswar: After meeting arrested BJP Yuva Morcha members in jail, senior BJP leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Jayanarayan Mishra on Thursday alleged that police are working as ruling BJD workers.
“While our members are languishing in jail, no action has been taken in the FIR filed against the inhumanely attack on them during the rally. It clearly shows the biased attitude of the police administration,” he said.
Jayanarayan further said that DGP termed the incident as pre-planned. “Efforts are on to malign the image of BJP Yuva Morcha. If it was planned by us then police would not have been able to trace the eggs. Eggs hurled during protest were brought by police,” he alleged.
The BJP leader further said the activists of the youth wing were brutally assaulted by police during the rally over Naba Das murder and deteriorating law and order situation in the state. “I strongly condemn the attack during the political protest which is well within the rights of the party in a democracy. Some people, who were not uniform, also assaulted the party activists,” he added.
