Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has filed a police complaint against fraudulent transactions of the land belonging to Lord Jagannath in Odisha’s Puri district.
The SJTA, in its complaint, filed at Baselisahi police station in the town, alleged that the Lord’s land under Matitouta mauja was encroached and fraud transactions were made to sell those. As many as 109 plots carved out of the land have been transacted in the process.
The temple administration has also sought the intervention of the district collector and SP in the matter. Stating that the illegal transactions on Lord’s land needed to be stopped urgently, the SJTA demanded stern action against the unscrupulous elements involved in the process.
SJTA’s Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee, in his response, said encroachment and illegal acquisition of Lord Jagannath’s land would not be tolerated. The temple administration has taken a serious view of the matter and sought the cooperation of the Collector and the SP against the land mafia.
