Khurda: Tension ran high on the premises of Khurda court on Friday after police drove away a group of agitating lawyers, who had been on strike for the last four days seeking fulfillment of their five-point charter of demands.
According to sources, the agitators under the aegis of the local lawyers’ association prevented a Judge from entering the court premises, disrupting work for a couple of hours. Getting information about the incident, police rushed to the spot and took the Judge inside the court premises after breaking open the gate that was locked by the agitators.
As many as three platoons of police force have been deployed at the spot to prevent any untoward incident.
