Cuttack: Fresh trouble appears to have surfaced for Amarendra Pratap Swain, nephew of Odisha Agriculture Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain, after a police FIR was lodged against him for allegedly thrashing a youth over vehicle overtaking in Cuttack.
According to sources, the youth from the CDA area in Cuttack has lodged a complaint at Markatnagar police station in the city against Amarendra. It has been alleged that he was beaten up by the Minister’s 35-year-old nephew for overtaking a vehicle.
A complaint has also been lodged by Amarendra against the youth at the police station with some allegations against him.
It may be recalled here that Amarendra was in news following his arrest after a video showed him forcing a youngster to kneel down in Pratap Nagari area of Cuttack in October, 2022. The arrest was made by Sadar Police after a video pertaining to the incident went viral. It showed a group of 10 persons assaulting a youth and forcing him to kneel down following an argument about overtaking their vehicle.
