Sambalpur: Album artist Simran Singh died after her head and chest hit a stone, informed Burla police, quoting the postmortem report, on Sunday.
The body of 20-year-old actor was found under a bridge near Goira Matha here on Thursday morning and her family alleged that she was murdered by her husband, Dhrubaraj Suna aka Yug, a native of Balangir.
On the basis of a complaint lodged by Simran’s family, the police on Saturday had arrested Yug and booked him under POCSO Act.
During interrogation by Balangir police at Belpada police station on Friday, Yuga had said that they had tied the knot against their parents’ consent last year. He, however, denied the allegation of his involvement in her death.
Hours before police detained Yug, Simran’s last voice message doing the rounds on social media platforms had hinted at a possible suicide angle.
According to sources, Simran was heard crying in the voice message to a male friend, and claiming that she was mentally depressed and going away from everyone.
“I am broken from inside. I would have left everything to come with you had you told me once to take me to your home. Wish you had made efforts to save the relationship. Be happy. I am going away…away from my family and everyone,” she can be heard saying in the voice message.
The actor had sent the one minute and 18 seconds long audio message to her friend through Whatsapp, before being found dead under Mahanadi Bridge.
The 20-year-old had gained popularity for Sambalpuri music video ‘Selfie Bebo’.
