Bhubaneswar: Prafulla Kar (Music), Sudarshan Sahoo (Art) and Ileana Citaristi (dance) were felicitated during the second edition of Odisha Excellence Award (OEA) here on Sunday morning.
Governor Ganeshi Lal gave away the awards to 17 personalities and three organisations.
The other awardees are Jagadananda (Social Service), Haraprasad Das (Literature), Ajit Das (Theatre), Mahasweta Ray (Cinema), Arun Bothra (Public Service), Anuradha Biswala (Sports), Sandeep Sahu (Journalism), Jagadish Prasad Naik (Entrepreneurship,) Arun Kumar Sabat (Motivation), Dr Akshay Kumar Rout (Health), Priyadarshi Pany (Leadership), Sabita Patnaik (Education), Prashant Sahu (Information Technology) and Trinath Lenka (Wealth Management).
Likewise, NALCO for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Vajirao IAS Academy for Coaching and South Orissa Voluntary Action (SOVA) for Community Development also received Odisha Excellence Award 2019.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor shared his experience about Odia people and the tribal groups in particular. He said that the people of Odisha are happy and satisfied with whatever they have. Especially, the tribal people never ask for any support or any kind of help from the government., he added.
The event was organised by Odia Media at Odissi Reaserch Centre auditorium.
