Balasore: Short-range ballistic missile (SRBM) Pralay was test-fired again from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam island off the Odisha coast at 9.35 am on Thursday.
Pralay is a conventional quasi-ballistic missile which can hit targets between 150 km and 500 km. Officials said that the successful test on Thursday was conducted for a different range and met all parameters.
This is the second successful test of the missile in the last 24 hours. It was tested successfully on Wednesday also. Officials said that it was also the first time in the country that a developmental missile has been tested successfully on two consecutive days.
Pralay, developed by the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), is a short-range solid-fuel, battlefield missile with a payload of 500-1,000 kg.
