Bhubaneswar: Winding up her two-day Odisha visit, President Droupadi Murmu flew back to New Delhi from Bhubaneswar on Saturday.
Murmu, who returned by a special Indian Air Force aircraft from Biju Patnaik International Airport, was seen off by Governor Ganeshi Lal and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
This was Murmu’s second visit to her home state after assuming charge of the top constitutional post in the country. She had earlier visited Odisha in November last year.
The President, who had arrived in Bhubaneswar on Friday, visited Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar and paid obeisance to the Lord on the concluding day of her visit this morning.
After visiting Lingaraj temple, the President left for Cuttack where she inaugurated the second Indian Rice Congress at National Rice Research Institute (NRRI).
On the first day of her visit, the President graced the foundation day of Jnanaprabha Mission as chief guest.
President Murmu also visited her alma mater, Ramadevi Women’s University, in Bhubaneswar on the occasion of the varsity’s second convocation ceremony.
Later in the evening, the President inaugurated a 1,000-capacity state-of-the-art Abhishek Hall at Raj Bhawan in presence of the Governor and the Chief Minister.
