Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu will arrive in Mayurbhanj on Wednesday afternoon on a four-day visit to her home state Odisha.
During her visit, the President will attend a host of programmes across several districts, including Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Ganjam, Khurda, and Sambalpur.
On the first day of her visit on Wednesday, Murmu will is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the Central Government Holiday Home at Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj, official sources said.
On the occasion, she will also virtually lay the foundation stones for various road projects and a Sports Complex at Rairangpur as well as inaugurate Eklavya Model Residential School, Barsahi.
On February 29, the President will visit the Kichakeswari temple in Mayurbhanj to pay her respects to the goddess before proceeding to Keonjhar district and interact with the members of PVTGs of Kadalibadi village at Gonasika.
Later, President Murmu will inaugurate a national seminar on ‘Tribes of Keonjhar: people, culture and heritage’ and address the students of Dharanidhar University at North Campus, Dharanidhar University, Gambharia, Keonjhar. In the evening, she will grace the 53rd convocation of Utkal University in Bhubaneswar and stay overnight at Raj Bhavan in the State Capital.
On March 1, President Murmu will attend the 25th Convocation of Berhampur University in Ganjam district. Later, she is scheduled to visit Cuttack and grace the golden jubilee celebration of Brahma Kumaris, Odisha.
The next day, the President will visit Sambalpur district and participate in various programmes before departing for Delhi.
Security arrangements have been tightened at all the places in the state, where President’s programmes have been scheduled, a senior police officer said.
